Sophie is a Boston based designer/maker of sculptural contemporary jewelry. With early exposure to jewelry-making at her Maine highschool, she fell immediately in love, and went on to earn her BFA in Metalsmithing from Massachusetts College of Art and Design. She hand-forges each piece individually, as evident in the fine texture of her hammer and anvil imprinted on the jewerly. Sophie fabricates completely from sterling sheet and wire, without any casting, so each piece is unique. She draws inspiration from the malleability of raw metal as it curves beneath her hammer blows, and from the complementary curves and crevices of the human form. The simplicity of her designs exudes sophistication in its understated forms and subtle details.

To clean jewelry: lather with a mix of baking soda + liquid soap + water, and brush vigorously with a soft bristle brush. **Do not use silver polish or cleaner unless the piece is completely bright silver finish — it will remove the patina.**
To help prevent tarnish, store jewelry in a plastic baggie. You can also lightly wash with soap/water/baking soda and then dry thoroughly after wearing to truly prevent tarnish.
And remember… the more you wear it, the less it will tarnish!
