Handcrafted with Integrity

Using timeworn hammers, anvils, and hand tools, Sophie’s environmentally and socially responsible jewelry is crafted in her studio with the highest quality recycled gold. Stylish and minimal, Sophie's designs reveal the wabi-sabi nature of the maker's hand.

Our team deeply values sustainability, and we prioritize reusing precious materials already available aboveground. We utilize recycled metals, and our diamonds are reclaimed from estate jewelry whenever possible. As a secondary option, we use ethically sourced or lab-grown diamonds. Sophie favors Old Mine Cut and Old European Cut antique diamonds, hand-cut centuries ago, for ethics and aesthetics both.

Sophie had her first taste of jewelry-making as a teen on the Maine coast, and found that using her hands to build tiny, wearable sculpture deeply resonated with her. She went on to earn a BFA in Metalsmithing at MassArt prior to launching her eponymous jewelry line in 2009.

In 2013, Sophie opened Ore, her curated boutique of independently-designed fine jewelry from around the country. As with Sophie’s designs, each piece of jewelry at Ore has been thoughtfully designed and handmade in limited quantities.
