Brand Manager

About the Role

Sophie Hughes Inc. is hiring a full-time Brand Manager to report to our Creative Director. We are seeking a candidate who is energized by finding innovative ways to get our brand seen and loved, while staying true to our core. The role requires an engaging storyteller to whom it’s second nature to champion the brand at every opportunity. Excellent verbal and written communication skills (long and short form), a creative approach, insightfulness and a sharp eye are musts.

Our brand management role encompasses aspects of marketing, communications, collaborations, and clienteling. The Brand Manager will develop and implement a multi-faceted marketing strategy designed to scale the brand. The ability to move between strategic planning and tactile action - dreaming it and getting it done - is required for impactful execution.

With a solid understanding of our brand, our competitive landscape, and consumers you will define, express, and elevate our brand essence in a genuine and compelling way. Ultimately we strive to create authentic, vibrant connections with both current and potential clients to generate excitement, drive growth and retain our base.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and assess competitive positioning/products/brand

  • Define and convey a singular, clear brand message

  • Create and implement a strategic marketing plan across all consumer touch points (email campaigns, social media, online advertising, web content, SEO, blog, etc.)

  • Identify the most impactful area to focus effort

  • Create partnerships and collaborations

  • Pop-ups, trunk shows, & events

  • Clienteling strategies

  • Nurture relationships with press, stylists, and influencers

  • Copywriting, ensuring consistency and relevance across platforms

  • Strategic planning around product launches

The ideal candidate:

  • Solid understanding of brand building

  • Passionate about independent designers, style, and jewelry

  • Can-do, positive and flexible attitude

  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills

  • Strong understanding of consumers and what makes them tick

  • Strong copywriting and editing skills to communicate clearly and concisely

  • Has established relationships with media professionals and influencers

  • Exceptional analytical, organizational and project management skills

  • Finger on the pulse of the branding/marketing/communications realm, a knowledge of what works, and a firm grasp on what healthy metrics should look like

  • Self-directed and self-motivated

  • Resourceful problem-solver

  • Results-driven to meet sales goals

  • Has experience in an emerging company

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in brand building and communications
